Overview

General Settings is your own account page. Check the signed-in account, upload a profile photo and choose the app color theme for this browser. Client portal accounts can also update their displayed name and review secure email-code sign-in. Employees can change their photo here; their name and email come from SalesHive sign-in.

How to use this page

  1. Review your account at a glance

The overview band at the top shows the email you are signed in as, your account type (client portal account or SalesHive employee account), and your current theme. Use it to confirm you are in the right account before making changes.

  2. Upload or change your photo

In Profile photo, select Upload photo, or Change photo if one is already set. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP file up to 5 MB and 25 megapixels. The photo saves automatically; wait for Profile photo updated. SalesHive crops it to a square. Photo changes are unavailable while you are logged in as someone else; return to your own account first.

  3. Update your profile (client portal only)

If you sign in through the client portal, edit the name shown with your access and click Save profile. Your sign-in email is displayed but cannot be changed here. In a self-serve workspace, a Client Admin can change sign-in emails on Users (the hint under the field links there). Otherwise, contact your account manager.

  4. Set the appearance

In the Appearance card, choose Light, Dark, or System. System follows your operating system setting and shows the light or dark mode it currently uses. If the OS changes while this tab is in the background, SalesHive rechecks the preference when the tab becomes visible or the browser regains focus. You can also click the theme icon at the bottom of the sidebar (in the top bar on a phone) to cycle from Dark to Light to System, then back to Dark. Your preference is saved in this browser only.

  5. Understand secure sign-in (client portal only)

Client portal sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email when you sign in from a new browser. No password is required. The Secure sign-in card confirms that email-code protection is enabled.

What the buttons do

Upload photo / Change photo
Opens the photo picker and saves the selected file automatically. Shows Uploading... and stays disabled while saving.
Save profile
Saves your name. Client portal accounts only.
Light / Dark / System
Sets the app color scheme for this browser. System follows the current operating system preference and rechecks it when the tab or window returns.
Theme icon
In the icon row at the bottom of the sidebar (top bar on a phone). Cycles the saved preference from Dark to Light to System, then back to Dark. Hover to see the current and next choice.
Secure sign-in
Client portal accounts use a one-time email code instead of a password.

Common questions

Why can I change my photo but not my name here?
Employee accounts see Profile photo and Appearance. Their name and email come from SalesHive sign-in. Client portal accounts also see the Profile and Secure sign-in cards. Google supplies an initial employee photo when none is saved; signing in again keeps an uploaded photo.
Does the theme change apply everywhere?
The theme is stored locally for the browser you set it in, so it applies across the app on this device but not on other devices or browsers. The Appearance card and the sidebar theme icon stay in sync.
What does System do?
System follows your operating system light or dark setting. It switches when the OS preference changes and rechecks after the tab becomes visible or the browser regains focus, so a backgrounded page catches up when you return. The label shows the resolved mode.
Do I need a password to sign in?
No. Client portal accounts use a one-time code sent to the sign-in email when a new browser needs verification. There is no password to remember or reset.
Can an agent change my profile for me?
Yes. In a project chat you started, ask the agent to change your name. Client portal accounts can change only the name this way; the sign-in email cannot be changed by the agent or on this page.
How do I change my sign-in email?
It cannot be changed on this page. In a self-serve workspace, ask a Client Admin in your workspace to change it on Users. Managed clients contact their account manager.
What if my photo upload fails?
Check that the file is a valid JPG, PNG or WebP, no larger than 5 MB or 25 megapixels. A failed upload leaves the current photo in place. If SalesHive says your photo changed while uploading, refresh before trying again.
